The Clarion wishes you a very Happy Easter.  There's lots going on across the county. We've rounded up some of the best options for family fun over the Easter holidays. From easter egg hunts to science and history, there's something here for all interests, ages and budgets.

Free range kids!

Perhaps your kids just need to run off some steam, but you dont want to go to the same playground. Pack a picnic, and hop on a bike or a bus or even the car and try some 'playground tourism'. Here are Oxfordshire's playparks.

Harcourt Arboretum, just outside Oxford, is great for a tramp about and some good tree climbing. And they have a Super Spring Family Day on Wednesday 10 April

Oxford City Centre

Visit the Whispering Wood, explore the City of Stories, or book in for a special performance. The Story Museum makes for a wonderful day out. And it's next to Oxford institution G&D's.

The Museum of Natural History and Pitt Rivers museum are always worth a visit: see the dinosaurs, or follow in the footsteps of 'His Dark Materials' Lyra in an exbition until 31 March.

The Ashmolean has family tours, toddler time and a baby bundle.

For budding scientists, The Museum of the History of Science has some 'How does it Work' events, getting hands on with the collections.

Fancy seeing the inside of the Mini plant? Did you know you could take a tour? Over 11s and good walkers only.

The ever popular Oxford City farm has animals to pet, good coffee and cake and great toys for primary schoolers. Their 'whats on' is here.

Outside the city

We love the Oxford Bus Museum in Hanborough, right next to the station, for its vintage transport fun - and there's an Easter chick hunt too!

From circus-themed fun at the Beacon in Wantage to Cornerstone Arts in Didcot, Vale of White Horse District Council has rounded up the best in local Easter fun in the Vale.

Perhaps you want to see Actual Easter Lambs? The brilliant Red Kite Days has rounded up the very best lambing experiences.

Eggs and shows!

Little Ankle Biters Oxon has rounded up the best shows on over Easter from Bluey at the New Theatre to Three Bears at the Pegasus Theatre. Also the best collection of Easter Egg hunts.

And finally...

The Holidays and Food Activity Programme (HAF)

If you need it,  or know someone who does, the programme, run by the county council, offers free holiday activities to school-aged children, from Reception to Year 11, and who are in receipt of benefits-related free school meals.

Eligible children and young people are entitled to at least four hours each day, for four days over the spring and winter holidays and sixteen days over the summer holidays plus a nutritious meal each day they attend the camp.
